If you’re struggling to find out what your Planning Analytics version is, you can follow the steps below.
Please note that Live and Dev environment might have different Planning Analytics versions. If this is the case, unless you are actively upgrading then we would advise that you keep the two in sync where possible.
Planning Analytics version is reflected by TM1 server build number installed on the IBM server. It means by finding out TM1 server build number you can get Planning Analytics version.
Finding the TM1 server build number:
- Log into your Planning Analytics environment.
- Open a new Workbench so you have a view of all your databases.
- On your selected database, click on ellipsis button next to it, followed by -> Logs -> Server log
- A new screen will now appear showing a view of the log as below:
- Click in the log window and use ctrl+f to find the string ‘tm1 build number’.
- Take note of the TM1 build number, and find its corresponding Planning Analytics version and What’s New in the IBM reference articles below:
https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/timeline-reference-ibm-planning-analytics-releases
https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/planning-analytics/2.0.0?topic=features-whats-new-in-planning-analytics
Using the example above, my TM1 build number is 11.8.02200.2, from the PA Releases link I can translate it to Planning Analytics version 2.0.9.18, released October 2023, and I can see all other related releases associated with it.
