If you have a live and a development environment, you can map or link a shared directory between both. This can be useful if you need to move files between two environments, i.e., updating dev with live data.
To map a dev shared folder to live, access live via RDP. Then, open a windows browser, right click on ‘This PC’, and then click on ‘add a network location’. Open the ‘add network location’ wizard, and click next.
Click on ‘Choose a custom network location’ and then click on ‘next’. On the Internet or network address field input your dev directory.
Note: you can find this in your dev welcome kit under ‘To connect to the shared folder from another Planning Analytics environment, use:’.
Click on next.
Input your dev fileshare username and password click on Next.
On the next page you can give a friendly name such as <server_name>_Dev. Click on next and next then finish.
You should now you have a dev directory in your live environment!
